Two Finnish developers join remote control productions

Rockodile and Mental Moustache the latest additions to Europe’s biggest developer family

Munich / Kotka, August 17th, 2016 – The international expansion of remote control productions is
picking up steam: just six months after founding their first international subsidiary run by Finnish
industry veteran Jyri Partanen, the first two Finnish game developers are joining the ever-expanding
developer family: Rockodile from Turku and Mental Moustache, based in Joensuu.
Rockodile is a young and innovative game development studio with a passion for cross-platform PC
and mobile development as well as additional expertise in physics and multiplayer games. Founded
in 2013, the studio has nevertheless already released four games, key among them the indie hit
“Lowglow”, an audiovisual puzzle game. Joni Kuusisto, CEO and co-founder comments: “Rockodile is
excited about the opportunities that the partnership has to offer. The team feels privileged to be
able to grow with such hardcore professionals.”
Mental Moustache is a well-known name in the Finnish independent game development. The
experienced developer has been around since 2011 and is focusing on co-operative and work-for-hire
projects teaming up with other companies. CEO and Founder Heikki Koljonen states: “Mental
Moustache is thrilled to join the rcp family of talented game studios and work with industry experts
to create the next big thing.”
Hendrik Lesser, founder and CEO of remote control comments on the timing: “We chose Finland as
our first international subsidiary because we already know a lot of people there and have worked
with Finnish partners for years. The current state of the Finnish games industry is perfect for us to
step in at this point: after the hyper growth in recent years it now becomes apparent that growth is
never without many challenges, so teaming up with a production house like us makes a lot of sense,
especially if you want to put most of your focus on development. We are very optimistic about the
Finnish market and are looking forward to growing even more in the future. Stay tuned – there is
more to come!” Managing Director and co-founder of rcp Finland Jyri Partanen agrees: “The Finnish
game industry is booming and new indie studios are on the rise. There is a definite opportunity to
grow the market with remote control productions’ business model. Our aim is to create nationwide
momentum and help indie studios all over the country to create better games and business.”
Further announcements will follow shortly.
